Microsoft Applauds New Windows Aero Design

- For the Wireless Laser Desktop 7000

In terms of design and style, Windows Vista is defined by the Windows Aero graphical user interface. Complete with glass and transparency effects, the resource hungry UI does manage to give Vista an identity among Windows products, even though the translucent eye candy comes at a heavy price in terms of hardware requirements and resource consumption. However, it is obvious that Microsoft considers Windows Aero nothing short of a success, and is transitioning elements of the Aero design outside of Windows Vista, in an effort to create a complete and unified user experience around its products.

Microsoft Applauds New Windows Aero Design

Case in point: the Wireless Laser Desktop 7000. From the perspective of the Redmond company, the new Windows Aero inspired Wireless Laser Desktop 7000 is set up to complement Windows Vista.

(2) MetaRAM to Release 8GB Memory DIMMs

Sender Name : Jackson A Williams

 - Four times the capacity of DDR2, DDR3 memory modules

MetaRAM has been keeping its business away from prying eyes since it was founded, back in 2006. Led by the ex-Advanced Micro Devices CTO, Fred Weber, the company was dealing with RAM, but nobody would be able to tell what it was cooking in its laboratories.

Things have become crystal clear as MetRAM has finally pulled the veil off its ultimate technology: a welcome refresh to the old but still powerful SDRAM Dimm. More to the point, the MetaRAM modules are an evolutionary step to the old standard, and allows it to hold 4GB or 8GB of memory on a single card, with no further modifications to the motherboard or DIMM slots.

The MetaRAM modules are perceived by the computer just like normal DDR2 memory, so it would be the ideal replacement especially for server memory, where extra memory comes with a premium value. The advent of the new technology will not only bring systems with astounding memory configurations, but will also decrease the price in the custom hardware area. For instance, one of the company’s OEM partners will unveil a server system carrying 500 GB (you read it correctly, that’s five hundred gigabytes) of memory for a sub-$50,000 price.

The computer equivalent of a Lamborghini Diablo

The Skulltrail platform has had its share of attention during the last year, mostly because it’s supposed to be the most powerful dual-processor system aimed at enthusiasts, rather than at the server business. Although the average user will not be tempted to pump that much money into a system, it’s good to know that you can purchase it anytime: the Skulltrail platform is here!

Intel: Introducing the Dual-CPU Skulltrail Platform

The dual-processor platform is currently the top hardware configuration money can buy, except for supercomputing clusters. The platform is based on Intel’s dual-socket eATX motherboard aimed at the consumer market – D5400XS. The board is almost identical to the company’s technology that has been successfully used for the Xeon server architecture.

The new brand will power Mobile Internet Devices and low-cost PCs
Intel to Unleash New Low-Cost, Ultra-Efficient Atom ProcessorIntel has just released its brand name for the Silverthorne and Diamondville-based processors that will power the next generation of mobile Internet devices (MIDs). The new processors will be paired under the "Atom" name and will ultimately be the base of cheap PC systems aimed at the emerging markets.

The idea behind the Atom processor has been previously tackled by AMD with its Geode processor, as well as VIA with the energy-efficient C7-M chip. The Atom CPU is Intel’s own response to the constantly increased demand in mobile devices and low-cost computing systems.

Intel will release two versions of the same Atom product, namely the Silverthorne core-based chip for mobile devices and the Diamondville core-based processor aimed at low-cost computers. Silverthorne is a Diamondville derivative that comes with multiple optimizations for desktop applications.

(5) Asus Blitz: The ’ Extreme’ Intel P35 Express DDR3 Motherboard

One of the best motherboards that comes with the price of a whole mid-range computer

Asus Blitz: The ’ Extreme’ Intel P35 Express DDR3 Motherboard Asus has had a lot of interesting motherboard offerings even since the P4P 800 series, which is flawlessly running on one of my test shuttle for three years now. Of all Asus’ motherboard products, the Blitz line distinguishes the most by increased performance and state-of-the-art technology.

The Blitz series is dedicated to computer enthusiasts that price speed and performance most, at any price it may come. The new motherboard family from Asus is comprised of two mobos: the Asus BLITZ Extreme and the Asus BLITZ Formula. Both of them are absolutely identical, except for the fact that the Formula only supports DDR2 memory, while the Extreme edition comes with DDR3 support. The rest is unchanged, including the cooling system, the chipset or the CPU socket.

The Asustek Extreme is built with Intel’s P35 series of chipsets with the P35 Express northbridge and the ICH9R Southbridge. It can recognize as much as 8 GB or DDR3 RAM clocked at 1333/1066/800 MHz. Since it is a professional motherboard, it comes with two Gigabit Ethernet ports onboard, two IEEE 1394a ports, 12 USB 2.0 slots, six Serial ATA II slots that can perform as RAID 0, 1, 5, 0+1 and JBOD, one IDE channel and full support for AMD’s CrossFire technology.
